Acne Laser Treatment and Skinscription

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

Here is one of our clients Margy who suffers from severe acne. Therefore we are going to be treating Margys Acne with a course of treatments over a period of about 6 months from chemical peels to laser treatments..What causes acne? The main cause of acne are the hormones that we produce from puberty. They stimulate the sebaceous glands in our skin causing increased production of oil and changing the cells in the duct leading out to the skin. The cells in the duct stick together forming a plug that blocks the duct, the gland then blows up like a balloon. The pimples created are infected. Antibiotics help; squeezing can cause scarring. What are blackheads-black comedones? Plugs forming near the entrance of the duct contain melanin, are black in colour, dilate the entrance (look large) and have small tunnels inside them allowing oil to escape on to the skin. This relieves the pressure and they do not blow up like a balloon. What are whiteheads-white comedones? Plugs forming deeper in the duct are white and not porous. No oil can escape. These are virtual time bombs waiting to explode into pimples. The key to treating acne is to remove the plugs. Does skin cleansing and exfoliation help? Skin cleansing has no effect on the plugs. Scrubbing the skin can not get deep enough to reach the plug. Oil on the skin surface has no effect on the course of acne. Exfoliation cannot reach down into the plugs. What is the best therapy for acne? Microdermabrasion, peeling and laser can <b>…<b>

ow.ly – Pimples, Acne Conglobata and Prevention Tips Tip 1: The solution to acne prevention is to eliminate the root problem leading to acne. The main cause is the mixture of dirt and oil within skin pores leading to infection (and inflammation), pus heads (also known as pimples), lesions and perhaps even scarring of the skin. The best method to prevent permanent scarring is to NOT pick, push or squeeze on any pimples or building pus heads. Tip 2: Keeping your hair clean helps in eliminating one source of added oil on the face – the most central point of acne. Oils from hair can not only be rubbed on to the face, but the mixture of oil from hair with facial oil only gives more fuel for the dirt and oil mixture that may lead to acne. Naturally acne can happen on any area of the body. So it is important to first keep all areas of the body clean. Tip 3: For females avoiding oily makeup is very important. Oily makeup fits into the definition of dirt and only clogs pores which in turn becomes more fuel for acne development on the face. Check the label on makeup for noncomedogenic – meaning the contents does not block skin pores. Tip 4: Clean any jewelry, headbands, helmets and other head gear after each wearing. Every time you wear jewelry, especially facial jewelry like those for piercings, you transfer a small amount of dirt and oil on to the jewelry. The next time you wear the jewelry the old oil and dirt not only builds up with a new coat but it also allows old oil and <b>…<b>
